Privately owned property company, Celestino has this week given its $4 billion Box Hill North masterplanned community a new name to reflect its past – The Gables.
The Gables acknowledges the European history of the site which was originally a dairy farm owned by Robert Hurrell. This dairy was divided into two parts due to its size and named Blue Gables and Red Gables. The new project name reflects its rich heritage.
John Vassallo, Chief Executive Officer of Celestino said, “It was important to choose a name that paid homage to the rich European history of the site which will also carry through to many of the street names. Celestino’s vision for The Gables is to create a unique new address in North West Sydney’s flourishing Hills district, where a bustling mixed use town centre, educational facility and recreational precincts provide amenity for the community, with a large lake positioned at its heart.
“Housing choices will range from apartments in the town centre to half acre lots. Social and environmental sustainability will be intrinsic in The Gables’ design combined with industry leading infrastructure.”
Civil works to deliver the sales centre site on Old Pitt Town Road have commenced this week. We anticipate the sales centre will open in early August with our first land release to occur shortly after. A variety of lot sizes from 450m 2 to over 600m2 will be included in the first stage to cater for a wide range of budgets.
The Gables is located in The Hills district within Sydney’s North West Growth Corridor and covers a 330 hectare parcel of land. The project is encompassed by Maguires Road to the north, Old Pitt Town Road to the south, Janpieter Road to the east and Boundary Road to the west.
This sustainable new residential community will comprise over 4,000 dwellings, a large lake central to the development, a 5.5 hectare town centre, active and passive open spaces, a school, new roads and associated infrastructure.
The project is within a 10 minute commute from Rouse Hill Town Centre, the future Rouse Hill train station on the North West Rail Line and Schofields train station. Sydney’s CBD is an approximate 45 minute drive from the site.
The new sales office will be located at Old Pitt Town Road, Box Hill.
