Slidey Park at The Gables will be transformed into a ‘pet’s paradise’, with games and entertainment including; golden bones dog races, waggiest dog tail and dogs got talent with prizes for best dressed, cutest, smallest and happiest pup.

Participants that reside in The Gables also have the chance to have professional photos taken with their fur-baby.

Development Director Matthew Scard said, “We have an extremely high level of pet ownership within The Gables – in fact around 9 out of 10 homes have a dog.

“We are constantly reviewing how we can make sure our residents have the facilities and space they need to ensure an active and safe life for their pets, and those without pets also feel comfortable and secure,” he said.

“Sunday is a great way not just to bring the neighbourhood, and nearby residents together to socialise, but it gives our team a terrific chance to get direct feedback so we can take that into account when we’re designing new parks and outdoor spaces.”

In addition to plenty of pooch activities, there will be 20-30 market stalls full of products and services from leading pet retailers and specialists.

“The Gables is setting a new standard for the way we imagine these purpose-built neighbourhoods. We closely consider not just how our residents live, but how they want to live in the future, and being able to deliver extras such as the many events we hold, great open spaces and focussed parks and playgrounds is one key way we stand out as a place where people love to live,” said Mr Scard.
